Jakarta, senyumnegeri.or.id — Bank Indonesia (BI)released the Indonesian Build Village Development Empowerment Program (BINDESIA) in the Cilangkap Region, Depok City. This program will last for three years covering activities in the field of urban farming aquaponics, integrated waste management, health services, and conservation of the Cilangkap lake based on community empowerment.
BI Senior Deputy Governor Mirza Adityaswara said, with the Bindesia program, the community was encouraged to be able to have added value from optimizing the surrounding environment. In addition, the community gets economic benefits to support community independence and program sustainability.
“We have been carrying out activities since October 2015 through coordination with the community and the government in this area. We offered programs and disseminated them to the community, such as renovation and construction of a bridge connecting with a small island of about 1 hectare, then waste management activities and others,” he said. when launching BINDESIA RT.07/RW.09 Griya Telaga Permai Housing, Cilangkap Village, Depok, Sunday (15/5/2016).
Through this program, BI will conduct an aquaponics urban farming program with activities that include training and comparative studies for volunteers, then providing aquaponics infrastructure, providing seeds and fish, as well as empowering and assisting aquaponics groups.
On this occasion, Mirza also carried out the sowing of fish seeds, laying the first stone for the waste management house, and inspecting the health service center. He explained that integrated waste management activities include the construction of waste management houses as well as empowerment and assistance programs for waste management groups.
“Hopefully, if the waste management house is finished, the waste management in Situ Cilangkap can be used by the community,” he explained.
Meanwhile, for health service activities, Bank Indonesia will renovate as many as posyandu in 2 (two) locations, provide medicines and medical equipment as well as provide health education and services to the Cilangkap community.
In the future, he hopes that after three years of running this program, the Cilangkap village can become more advanced with a comfortable atmosphere. In addition, programs that have been initiated from now on can be continued.
“Hopefully the community can be independent in maintaining and utilizing environmental sustainability resulting from this program on an ongoing basis,” added the Executive Director of the BI Communications Department, Tirta Segara on the same occasion.
He also hopes that the community will be able to work together to take care of all the facilities that are part of the program independently. “We hope that community empowerment activities in the Situ Cilangkap area can be sustainable after the end of the bindesia program by Bank Indonesia,” he said. – Sindonews.
